We price from drawings or from a site visit, issue a risk assessment and method statement before the first tube goes up, and inspect the scaffold through the life of the hire.
That covers new build housing, industrial units, offices, schools, retail and listed buildings, with 2D and 3D scaffold design where the structure is not standard. We are CITB registered and CHAS accredited, our scaffolders hold CISRS cards, and we carry £10 million employers liability and £10 million public liability. How much does scaffolding cost?

Do I need a permit to erect scaffolding?
A permit is needed by your Local Authority when a scaffold occupies a public footpath or road. It's important to ensure that you contact your Local Council and follow the required steps involved. If you would like our assistance on these matters, please contact us for more information.
How long does scaffolding take to erect?
The length of time it takes to erect scaffolding will vary depending on the size of the project and the type (e.g. domestic or commercial). A simple scaffold tower can take as long as a few hours to fully erect and be ready for use. More complex commercial scaffolding with multiple access solutions can take much longer. For emergencies we can attend the site and erect scaffolding much quicker.
Will the scaffolding cause any damage to my home or garden?
Properly erected scaffolding should not damage the building or the ground it stands on. Base plates spread the load, and where we need to stand on a lawn, a drive or a flat roof we pack and board it first.
If something does get damaged we carry £10 million of public liability insurance, so you are covered. We would rather avoid it in the first place, which is why the site gets looked at before anything is priced.
Are KMS fully insured?
Yes. We carry £10 million of employers liability insurance and £10 million of public liability insurance, and we can send the certificates over before we start if your site or your insurer needs them on file.
Our scaffolders hold CISRS cards, we are CHAS accredited and CITB registered, and every scaffold is erected to BS EN 12811-1 working to TG20 and SG4 guidance.
What locations do you mainly operate in?
KMS Scaffolding Ltd is based in Bury St Edmunds but can travel to all areas throughout Suffolk, Cambridge and Cambridgeshire. We can travel slightly further outside these areas, but this will depend on the type, size and duration of the proposed scaffold works.
